Crystals made from bismuth shot. I made this assortment of crystal clusters using bismuth shot (see previous two samples) which is only about 97% bismuth. It forms hopper crystal like pure bismuth (see earlier samples), but much smaller ones. Interestingly, you can clearly see flashes of light across large areas of some of these pucks, which indicate that crystal formation was coordinated over a much longer distance than the size of the individual squares. I'm not sure what this means.
