| Canadian dollar. They must have a lot of nickel up there, because the Canadians seem to make a good number of coins out of it.  This is a shiny, proof-quality one (Canadian) dollar coin.  My Canadian quarters are just common circulated ones (see that sample description for an analysis of the nickel content of Canadian coins).
