Gold leaf in oil. This little bottle was sold for a few dollars in the Chicago Field Museum's gift shop, advertised as real gold. This might seem far fetched, until you realize that it's gold leaf, which is incredibly thin: There is no more than a few milligrams of gold in here despite the full appearance.
